G.Loomis fishing rods are the best in the world!
A bold statement but after having used them from the day Gary Loomis first built one and having tried just about every other rod built I think I can make that statement quite fairly.
As a professional fly fishing guide for 30 years I have also had the opportunity to lead many parties of world class anglers on big game fishing trips or to the tropics in search of barramundi I have been able to use and test most other rods that are available to anglers throughout the world.
I know that on the water where it counts they rule supreme and anything the other rod manufacturers say is plain old advertising hype!
When it comes to casting the Loomis GLX fly rods are vastly superior but I must stress that each and every person has a different casting style and to some the fast action may not appeal. But when it comes to casting into wind or distance then they win hands down. No argument
I have witnessed huge marlin landed in half the time with Loomis game rods and been on game boats where anglers scramble for the Loomis game rods knowing they will have a far better chance of landing the fish of thier dreams.
We have pulled up huge deep seas bass from great depths - sometimes bigger than the angler and the rods have pumped them steadily to the surface with incredable ease that only someone who has winched one up with a lesser rod can relate to.
The spinning and casting rods are something else and once you own one then you will buy more. They are so far ahead of anything on the market that once you pick one up then you wont put it down.
Warning: Don't fish with a G.Loomis rod or even pick one up in a shop unless you are intending to buy! They are addictive!
